Contributor Proposals

Storyboards must reflect the aesthetic of The Nu Journal. Proposals must include details from the contributing team. Along with links to their portfolio or website. Once a submission proposal receives approval. We will send a letter of recommendation to the fashion editor/stylist. Only by request. The recommendation letter includes a standard policy. For the fashion editor/stylist. We must receive a yes before the fashion editor/stylist receives the pull letter.

Contributor Submission

Submissions must include four to twelve low-resolution images. In Jpeg or PDF only. Please do not send images in another format, it’s unacceptable. Once we receive a story, it goes through the review process with the creative director. If the story fits with the concept we will follow up with further details. (Please email hello[at]thenujournal.com for contribution.) We not accept bcc emails.

Confirmation

Once we accept a submission. We ask that the editorial is 100 percent confirmed before we continue with publishing. Confirmation explains the submitter will feature material. If there is no confirmation for the editorial. The space reserved for publishing will no longer be on hold for the contributing team.

Confirmation also clarifies that you will provide a story for The Nu Journal. In the event that you can’t provide the editorial feature. Notify us before the deadline. If we don’t receive notification. You will not have the opportunity to contribute towards The Nu Journal in the future.

Publishing Editorial Details

Editorial features selected for publishing. Must include the story title, the team and garment credits, separate from the images. We ask that the wardrobe stylist include the stocklist link info with the credits.

All image sizing must be according to the measurements below. If you want to include specific instructions for the editorial feature. We ask that you provide a separate low-resolution PDF with the story formatting.

Single Page 8.625 x 11.125 Inches

Double Page 17.125 x 11.125 Inches

RGB, CMYK or Grayscale

300 DPI TIFF

For wide-angle images, if you would like a full two-page spread. Please count it as two pages, unless if you prefer the wide-angle image placed on a single page. Consider the gutter space when using a wide-angle image.

It’s important all image sizing are according. When submitting final materials. If we receive images that don’t have correct size or format, it’s unacceptable. It’s important your work has the best view possible.

Also, all images should be in the correct order as the credits. Please include image order. Above or next to the garment credit (to avoid confusion and misplacement.) Revise all content, if you noticed you need to update materials contact us as soon as possible.

Poetry Submission

We’re open to creative thoughts, emotions, and expression. For all poets, to submit poetry to The Nu Journal, include a sample or link of your work for review. Once accepted. Provide one or two high-resolution images with the credits. Contact hello[at]thenujournal.com To submit include “Poetry Contribution” in the subject area.

Contributing Writers

The Nu Journal teams up with creative writers for the opportunity to journey with us. We developed a network for contributing writers. To submit proposals for articles and interviews. For regular contributing writers. We developed a base to feature select events and exclusive interviews. 

To be a part of The Nu Journal digital dossier and the next edition. Send a proposal for approval before contribution. Once you’re confirmed, the least amount of words should be four hundred for an article. All content must include high-resolution images and credits. Contributing writer benefits include:

- Name and title on the masthead

- A photograph and short bio on the contributor’s page

- High-resolution PDF tears of the featured article or interview, with the edition cover

-Regular contributors receive an opportunity for exclusive interviews and invitation to events

Final Note

we ask that submissions are double-checked. We will not be liable for misspelt or missing credits. If details are missing from the finalized materials. The contributor who submitted content will be responsible. For the acceptable editorial feature or exclusive content. It grants The Nu Journal the permission to use contents on any of our platforms. Contributing writers and poets. We ask that you have the appropriate permission and credits you source your images.
